YWF Rant! False Rape Claim
I just read this on the Daily Mail website after finding it on digg. Warren Blackwell, a married father of 2, spent 3 years in jail after being found guilty of rape despite there being no forensic evidence. The accuser, who gets to remain un-named (which is wrong), had changed her name while accusing men of rape a total of 7 times. Talk about pre meditated! This was why police failed to identify her as a false rape claimer. He was picked out of an identity parade but there’s no mention of why he was in the identity parade in the first place. Not only did he not commit the crime, the crime never even took place! He was cleared in 2005 and launched a bid for compensation.
To add insult to injury Mr. Blackwell has to pay £12,500 to cover ‘board & lodgings’ while falsely imprisoned - Wrong, wrong, wrong! This is based on a House of Lords ruling which said that claims for compensation for wrongful imprisonment will incur a weekly £40 deduction for board and lodging. This has been standard practice to do this in miscarriage of justice cases since the Criminal Appeals Act 1995 came into force. This Labour Government & it’s stupid rules really takes the piss! Mr Blackwell didn’t ask to go to jail! I think he should sue both the accuser and the Government (law & order’s boss) for the £12,500. He should seek legal aid from the government to do this as it would be refreshing to see the real victim get justice for what has happened to him.
In reality, as for the £12,500, he would have to pursue it to the Court of Human Rights, which if he took action on his own would use up the fair compensation awarded to him for being locked up, already minus the £12,500 of course… Welcome to Labour controlled England! That’s the same Labour government that promised us a vote on the dreaded European Constitution then went ‘Stalin’ on us & decided they new best & weasled their way out of giving us that vote because they knew we would vote NO!
Vote Conservative & help get rid of ‘Nanny State’ government! Don’t worry, I’ll rant at the Conservative’s too if do something stupid but they can’t be worse than Labour, can they?
