Well, having dumped all the old ideas on raising money for charity and especially due to the credit crunch I’ve decided to combine the 2 problems. I’m developing my ‘day job’ website,

into a nationally advertised directory to help all wall and floor tilers find work. Not just a simple online directory, it will have ’search by postcode’ capabilities plus other ‘bells & wistles’.

The simple idea is to charge a fee for monthly membership and pool the money to buy advertising in UK national papers. The problem is money! It will cost about £5000 to get the site up and running. I’m not asking for money here, I need to get the site ranked better in the search engines so I can sell industry related advertising on it’s current homepage to raise the cash. What I am asking for is for anyone to post a quick blog with the following link in to help with SEO. If you want to post the link on your own resources pages instead that’s fine.

I’m prepared to give out one way links from my blog in return on my ‘friends’ pages if you want, just send me your link info to ‘contactus£@£yourwayforward.net. Just take out the 2 £ signs first, they are just a simple attempt to reduce the amount of spam I get.

I know if money is getting very tight for me as a wall and floor tiler it must be getting tight for other people in the construction industry in general as well. This is my idea to help out my fellow wall and floor tilers in a fair way. Some of the other online ‘find tradesmen’ sites charge extortionate fee’s to get access to customers details just to give a quote with no guarantee of actually getting the job. This is in addition to their monthly / quarterly charges!
