Best selling British author, Monica Ali has signed with leading PR Agency, PHA Media (www.pha-media.com) to promote her new, thought-provoking novel while cementing her profile as one of the UK’s finest authors.
Monica Ali’s debut novel, Brick Lane, was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize for Fiction in 2003 and propelled her onto the Granta’s Best of Young British Novelists list for the same work before it was even published. It was later released as a film in 2007 and received much critical praise. Her other novels include Alentejo Blue and In the Kitchen.
Brick Lane is an epic tale that follows the life of Nazneen, a Bangladeshi woman who moves to Tower Hamlets in London at the age of 18 to marry an older man. It presents an insightful look into the British immigrant experience.
The latest novel from Ali sees the writer venture in a brave, unexpected direction but still embraces themes surrounding relationships and identity that are evident in her previous work.
