A new modification of a computer virus Sober – Sober.R was recorded in the Internet by the anti-virus laboratory staff. According to them, the worm enters a computer, using social engineering techniques.

The letter is disguised as a notice of change of the password in the attached file containing the data for review – pword_change.zip. In the second case this letter is in German, supposedly with photos of old school friends in a file KlassenFoto.zip. Both compressed file includes an executable file PW_Klass.Pic.packed-bitmap.exe, which is a copy of the worm.

According to the director of antivirus laboratory, “Sober worm has always boasted of its ability to spread, and the new version is no exception.
